  1. In a bowl, add 1/2 a cup of soy sauce.
  2. Add 1 tbsp of brown sugar or white sugar to the bowl and stir a couple of times.
  3. Grab your ginger and chop into small pieces. Add 1 tsp of ginger into the bowl and stir.
  4. Do the same with the garlic. Chop into small pieces and add 1 tsp of garlic into the bowl and stir.
  5. Let your marinade sit for 2 minutes in the fridge while you are working on the tofu.
  6. Grab your block of firm tofu and start chopping. I prefer to create smaller cubes of tofu but you are free to cut your tofu into small or large cubes. Remeber, the smaller the cubes the faster the marinade will be absorbed.
  7. Take your marinade out of the fridge and stir. Add your tofu into the marinade and stir once again.
  8. Place your bowl back to your fridge for two minutes.
  9. Take bowl out of the fridge and stir again. Let that sit for a minute. This technique will help your tofu absorb the marinate evenly.
  10. After the minute is done, you are ready to cook your tofu.
Recipe Notes

I like to pair this recipe with a veggie and rice bowl. I like to use 1/2 cup of brown rice (white rice or quinoa is fine) into my bowl. After I like to choose my favorites are carrots, squash, or mushrooms. You are free to choose your favorite vegetables. Lastly, I place 1 serving of my cooked tofu that has been marinated. Pair it with your favorite sauce, I like to add sriracha. Hope you enjoyed this vegan recipe. Leave me a comment below if you tried this recipe.
